Churches in Lucca – Santa Maria

Built in the 12th century with a Pisan-style facade, the Santa Maria Forisportum features two 17th century Guercino paintings, St. Lucy and Assumption. Visitors to the church can also take in the Porta San Gervasio, a preserved gate from the 1200s, and a former moat.
